From the Foreword to Brave New World, Aldous Huxley
Don't stop yourself from acting on your inspiration just out of the fear that you might be wrong. Act anyway. If you are shy of expressing yourself only because you fear that you might be embarrassed of your work years later, you can put your doubts to rest. You will. Yes, you will be ashamed and embarrassed of your work years later, as has everyone else who has gone before you been ashamed of theirs.
I have found out every five years how foolish I am.
You may also be assured that ten years from today, you will again be embarrassed of the embarrassment you expressed on today's work five years from today. Alike every other species, we too are evolving and in doing so, we vacillate between theories, beliefs and philosophies by turns.
On the other hand, if it scares you to imagine how others might judge you for your work, your worrying is in vain. Others shouldn't matter. Express yourself anyway.
Don't let your fear of embarrassment cripple you. Express away. Create your legacy.
